Brad McDearman, VP of the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore presented the Information Technology in Greater Baltimore report highlighting how Greater Baltimore stacks up against other metropolitan areas.

Committee Reports
- Ambassador
- Tracy asked that interested members join Mike Shelah on the committee.
- Business Roundtable
- Jerry Tabeling said the next meeting is tomorrow and regularly held on the 2nd and 4th Friday mornings at 8 am at the Nonprofit Center. The group brainstorms about business challenges and shares business leads and opportunities. Contact Jerry or Scott for more information.
- CompuKids
- Bobby Keller shared that the next CompuKids work day is Feb 7th 9 am - 1 pm. Volunteers will be testing and cleaning monitors, transporting computers from the storage unit to the NP Center, and imaging and testing computers. Donation Day is Feb.28th at 10 am. Contact Bobby Keller or Tracy to arrange to help.
After the Nov. 22nd give away, the total donation to date is 565 computers to local school-age children and non-profits in three years. In 2008 alone, 160 systems were donated. Bobby thanked all of the volunteers. - Education
- Denise thanked Mark Ripper for teaching the free Microsoft OneNote class in November.
Business Applications of Quick Books Pro is scheduled for February 10th and 12th 6:00 - 9:15 pm
Matt Day announced the deadline to register for the ASP.net scheduled for January 26th - 30th is tomorrow, Jan. 9th.
All of the current courses are listed on the CTC website and offered exclusively to CTC members through an economic development grant. Members are asked to sign up early and show up if scheduled to attend. - Technology Advisory Committee
- The first meeting of 2009 is Jan 20th at 4:30 pm at InfoPathways.
- Website
- Announcements can be added. All members should add Fran (fschinzel@lhinfo.com) and Tracy (tracy@carroltechcouncil.org) to their press release distribution list so the news can be posted on the CTC Tech news page. A subscription option for Tech Note is now available on the CTC home page.
- Events
- Judy gave an overview of the upcoming events and asked that any members who had event ideas to please contact her.
- Masquerade Ball
- Judy updated the group about the Mardi Gras-style Masquerade Ball that will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Martins from 7:00 - Midnight. Costumes are preferred. The event will kick off a year of celebrations to commemorate CTC's 5 year anniversary.
- Carroll County Times Articles
- Tracy encouraged members who wanted to write articles to contact her. Future articles will also be solicited from speakers; articles should be 450-500 words and be on a topic of general interest to the public.
- Presentation
- It was noted that Certificates of Appreciation for outgoing Board members will be sent to them.
Member Announcements
Denise mentioned the upcoming 2009 Economic Outlook Seminar at The Portico at St. John's in Westminster on February 26th at 8 am.
