Upcoming Elections

Ron discussed the importance of the upcoming elections. Four new Board members will be elected in addition to election of President and Treasurer.

Ron encouraged members to consider serving on the Board as a contribution to the ongoing success of the organization. Ron stated benefits of service include meeting community leaders, developing potential business partnerships, providing a community service, and personal satisfaction.

Ron reviewed the expectations for serving on the board:

Attendance at Board meetings - 13 annually; five are specifically for Executive Committee. Attendance at general meetings is optional, but encouraged and certainly a commitment to the mission of the organization and involvement is a key factor. There are no term limits for board members. The current CTC Board of Directors with their term status noted is below.

Organizational Chart of Current Board Members

Ron reviewed the election process: to be eligible to vote you must be a member in good standing (paid dues); if dues are not paid, then you cannot vote. There is one vote per organization. Voting takes place at the November meeting. The Nominating committee will present the slate of officers at the October meeting.

Ron also explained role of individuals of multi-employee organizations: Multi-employee member organizations need to designate an individual to act on behalf of the member in voting matters; additionally, all other employees of a member company are welcome to participate in CTC meetings and events. If the designated representative ceases to be associated with the member organization, that individual's membership in the CTC also ceases; however, this individual is encouraged to join the CTC as an individual member or as the representative of a new organization.
