Ron opened the meeting and attendees introduced themselves.
Guest Speaker
This month we had the privilege of hearing from the 4H Robotics Team as well as experiencing an incredible demonstration conducted by the 2 of the teammates.
Committee Reports
- Ambassador
- Mike introduced several new members in attendance and reported that they continue to follow up with guests.
- CompuKids
- There were 40 computers refurbished in June. Members were reminded that work days for preparing the computers are scheduled regularly and that all hands are welcomed.
- Golf
- The 2009 Golf tournament will be scheduled at Challedon again. The date will be announced at the next meeting.
- Nomination Committee
- A committee will be established to work on nominations for the election to take place in November as well as to go over the process used. The positions of President, Treasurer and 4 Directors will be up for election.
- Technology Advisory Committee
- Work is completed on 3 seminars for the Council of Governments. There were 6 presenters and CMC taped for airing on Channel 19.
- Website
- Fran mentioned that pictures are needed for any outings hosted that can be used on the website.
- Westminster FallFest
- Jeff is working on possibly making the booth at Fallfest a profit-making endeavor with a drawing for a laptop. He mentioned that he could use middle and high school students to volunteer in the booth; they would earn community service learning hours.
- Westminster City Advisory
- Tom reported that the city has hired an IT guy who will be starting in August/September.
- 2008 Technically Speaking Dinner and Fundraiser
- In anticipation of this years event, it was announced that raffle tickets are available for a drawing to win two tickets to the event.

August 20 - CTC Mini-Golf BBQ at Westminster's Island Green from 4:00pm-7:00pm.
Member price $10 and Guests $20. - November 15 - Technically Speaking Dinner and Fundraiser

Announcements
- Ron announced that the Director's job description has been revised and the position will now hold the title of Administrator. It is expected to be filled within the next two weeks.
- A joint seminar with CMC on broadband in Carroll County may be held in either for September or October with John Dillon of the Maryland Broadband Cooperative as one of the guest speakers. CTC members are invited.
Member Announcements
- Tom Canon mentioned a car show at Fallfest will be held on September 14th.
- Mark Ripper announced that work is being done on the Carroll County Public Network and is expected to be completed by the end of the year. This network is for use by public agencies such as the Board of Education, county government, the public library, and Carroll Community College. The ultimate goal is to make excess fiber capacity available to the private sector.
- Tammi Ledley reminded members to take advantage of the State Economic Development training grant program. Incentives are still available.
