- Introductions
- Jeannine opened the meeting with member introductions.
- Strategic Plan
Tech Council President Ron Harrington presented the Technology Council's Strategic Plan which was recently developed and approved by the Board of Directors. The plan consists of guidelines for future growth of the CTC in three interdependent areas: The Organization, Members and Technology.
The Strategic Plan defines key priorities on which to focus our resources to most effectively fulfill our mission. It also serves as a tool to communicate goals and objectives throughout the whole organization and assists in building consensus about where the CTC is headed and how we will get there.
The Strategic Plan will be made available to any member requesting it via email and will be posted on the Discussion Forum
- CTC Discussion Forum
- Director Jeannine Morber unveiled the new CTC Discussion Forum created exclusively for Tech Council members to share ideas, thoughts, opinions, and suggestions. The forum includes topics for individual CTC Committees, shareware/freeware, websites, techie news and others. Members can also upload/download files and images as well as send messages to other members.
- Microsoft Across America Tour
- Jeannine presented a PPT by Alissa Harrington about the Microsoft Truck Tour scheduled to stop at Carroll community College on Friday, September 21 2007 from 9-1 PM. Opportunities for Tech Council members to participate consist of volunteering, teaching or setting up a vendor booth outside the bus. There will be an informative meeting on the 28th of June in room T313 at the college from 3-4 PM for all of those that are interested. Alissa's presentation is posted on the CTC forum site. Committee Reports
- Ambassador
- Mark Pallack and Mike Shelah, spoke about the purpose of the Ambassador Committee in helping new and potential members easily transition into the CTC.
- Compukids
- Bob Keller announced that approximately 250 computers have been donated to county families so far. CompuKids now has storage space at Westminster Self Storage who gave us a generous discount on the monthly rate. The next Donation Day for computers is June 25th.
- Golf
- Ron discussed the tremendous success of the golf tournament and acknowledged all who played a part in its success. Approximately $17,000 was realized in profits compared to about $11,000 in 2006. He displayed the new 1st place trophy which will be kept on display at the CTC and will be up for grabs by the 2008 1st place winners.

- Technology Advisory Committee
- Barb Schmidt reported that the May 30th TAC committee seminar with representatives of COG was postponed .and will be rescheduled in the near future. She acknowledged the efforts of Thom Bethune, Doug Heck and Jeff Selby in preparing the seminar material.
- Website
- Isabel Defeo and Steve Williams reported Jeannine has taken on the responsibility for site updates and this has lifted the burden from the committee.
- Westminster City Advisory Board
- Tom Cannon updated the members on the WCAB.
Member Announcements
- Cher Hunter was acknowledged as a new member and welcomed into the CTC. Cher announced that she is selling raffle tickets the proceeds of which will benefit the women's prison where she volunteers as a yoga instructor.
- A lengthy discussion ensued about CTC membership - benefits, privilege, retention, recruitment, new member engagement orientation and involvement. Many of the members present agreed to become involved in the upcoming Membership strategy meeting on June 20th 7PM at the CTC office.
- Bob Cage announced his participation in an upcoming auto race.
