Community Media Center Presents Vollie Awards for Outstanding Television Production
Westminster, Maryland (March 30, 2010) - Over 100 people filled the Scott Auditorium on Friday, March 26th to take part in the Community Media Center's 2010 Vollie Awards presentation. Since 1991, this event has recognized the efforts of Carroll County's community television producers as well as their counterparts at the Board of Education, Carroll County Government, local colleges and municipalities.
Vollie awards were presented to producers of exceptional television programming that aired between January 2008 and December 2009 on Carroll's public, education and government (PEG) cable channels 18, 19, 21, 23, and 24. The following winners were chosen by a panel of independent judges.

Special recognition plaques were presented to the CMC's "Volunteer of the Year," Dan Russell, "History Project Volunteer of the Year," John Foertschbeck, "Board Member of the Year," Pat Flaherty, and to Tina Richardson for "Lifetime Achievement."
Certificates of Appreciation were presented for the "Best Staff Assistance" to Chris Bradford, "Best Event Coverage" to George Shearer, "Best History Project Organizational Volunteer" to Carroll Lutheran Village and "Best History Project Media Coverage" to Bob Allen. A "Best Municipal Program Runner Up" certificate was awarded to the City of Westminster for "Water: A Fragile Resource."
Winning programs will be rebroadcast throughout the next month on the Carroll's Channel 19.
