Learn to Interview for the Carroll County History Project
Westminster, Maryland (March 4, 2010) - The Community Media Center (CMC) will hold a Carroll County History Project volunteer training workshop on Saturday, March 20, 2010 from 10 am until 2 pm at the Community Media Center at 1301 Washington Road in Westminster. The workshop is free and open to the public but registration is required by Wednesday, March 17. For more information or to register, please visit CarrollHistory.org or call 410-386-4415.
Trained volunteers interview local residents for the History Project, an initiative to document the history of the county through memories of people who have experienced life here. Memories are video-recorded as oral histories and placed in a permanent archive for the public to use and enjoy. The archive can be found at www.carrollhistory.org.
The CMC offers training on a monthly basis that includes interviewing techniques and camera skills. The organization also coordinates interviews between History Project volunteers and Carroll County residents who are interested in sharing their memories for the archive.
