E-cycling event planned for South Carroll
October 7, 2009 – The Carroll County Recycling Office and the Freedom Area Citizens Council are sponsoring a one day e-cycling event on Saturday October 10, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Carrolltown Center 6400 Ridge Road, Eldersburg. Residents can bring computers, office equipment and electronics to be recycled. Items that may be dropped off include computer equipment (computers and monitors, laptops, keyboards, printers, mice, hard drives, tapes and zip drives, etc.); office equipment (telephones, fax machines, copiers, etc.); consumer electronics (DVD players, VCRs, gaming devices, stereo components (no speakers), radios, PDAs, cell phones, cables, etc.); and televisions (CRTs/LCDs, no consoles). Electronics are also accepted at the Northern Landfill Recycling Center, 1400 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. For information regarding Electronics Recycling at Northern Landfill, contact Maria Myers, Carroll County Government Recycling Manager, at 410-386-2035.
